I was born
in
1959 at Issy les Moulineaux, near Paris. I have made my first steps
in painting while pacing through the countryside of Illiers-
Combray, and my first oil paintings at age 14.
When I began to attend the Paris fine art
school in 1978, I ventured in abstraction for several years.
The most significative series of this period are « les
Anthropocages »,
which was the object of my first solo exhibition in 1983 in Paris.
After having endured a period of doubts for several
months where I had stopped painting, I discover through Hesiode's
theogony the necessity of filling iconographic blanks that some
greek myths were pointing to me.
It has been materialized that
way:
1986 Eurynomé, Galerie Darthéa Speyer in
Paris .
I then decided to represent the first
children of Gaïa and Ouranos, the Giants with 50
heads and 100 arms, Cottos, Gygès
and Briarée.
In 1989, during my stay in Barcelona, I
elaborated my Giants through the Têtabras (headarms).
This cycle ended ten years later with the
dislocation of each of them:
